About PDF to PNG

Convert PDF to PNG online to get a lossless image of every page. PNG keeps text, diagrams, and line art crisp without JPG compression artifacts, which makes it a good fit for documentation, slides, and screenshots of forms or charts. This tool renders each page of a PDF in your browser with pdf.js and saves it as a PNG with a white background. Choose a resolution of about 108, 144, or 216 dpi, then download each page image separately or all pages as one ZIP. Up to the first 50 pages of one PDF are converted at a time. Password-protected PDFs are not supported.

How to use

  1. Pick a Resolution: Standard (~108 dpi), High (~144 dpi), or Very high (~216 dpi).
  2. Click the "Drop a PDF here" area or drag one PDF onto it.
  3. Wait while it shows "Rendering page X / Y...".
  4. Click Download next to each page image to save it, or click Download all to get every file in one ZIP.
  5. Click CLEAR to start over with another PDF; it also cancels a render in progress or dismisses an error.

Limitations & notes

  • One PDF at a time; if you drop several, the first PDF is used and the others are ignored. Only the first 50 pages are converted.
  • Each page is saved as a separate PNG; Download all bundles every page into one ZIP file.
  • Password-protected PDFs cannot be opened.
  • Changing Resolution re-renders the PDF already added; the previous images are dimmed until it finishes.

FAQ

Should I convert my PDF to PNG or JPG?
PNG is lossless, so text and line art stay sharp, but files are larger. JPG produces smaller files and works well for pages that are mostly photos.
How many pages can I convert?
The first 50 pages of a PDF are converted. If the document is longer, a notice tells you the rest were skipped.
Are the PNG pages transparent?
No. Each page is rendered on a white background, matching how the PDF looks in a viewer.
Can I convert a password-protected PDF?
No. Password-protected PDFs cannot be opened, and the tool shows an error. Remove the password in another app first.
Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?
No. The PDF is read by pdf.js, which runs in your browser along with its worker script and font data loaded from this site. The file itself never leaves your device.
